METAMORPHOSIS
A Love Letter to the Women Who Live Beyond the Cut
Metamorphosis is a drawing-led book in progress about women’s bodies after profound change—through surgery, treatment, reconstruction, and other life-altering physical transformation.
Built around a growing series of charcoal and pastel drawings, the book looks at the body not as medical evidence, but as something lived in: changed, marked, sensual, powerful, complicated, and entirely one’s own.
It is not a medical book. Not a memoir. Not a PSA. It is a visual work about what remains, what changes, and who we become afterward.
The project is being developed first as a book, with the possibility of an exhibition to follow.
WHO I’M LOOKING FOR
I’m looking for women 18 and over whose bodies have been profoundly changed by surgery, treatment, reconstruction, or another significant physical transformation.
Participants should be comfortable being photographed nude, with their faces visible. The work is about the whole woman—not an anonymous body or a scar in isolation.
For this stage of the project, I’m working with women who are based in or able to travel independently to the New York/New Jersey area.
Interested in participating?
Tell me a little about yourself below. Please don’t send photographs at this stage. If the project feels like a fit, I’ll reach out personally to talk through the process and answer any questions before we schedule anything. Reference photographs will remain private and will not be published; they are created solely as source material for the artwork.
