Ioana Friedman works from a deeply personal, visceral relationship to craft. Her practice moves between fashion and portraiture, with drawing at the center. She looks for the thing that gives a person or garment its particular charge. Her line is instinctive and searching, drawn to whatever makes the subject feel most alive — and gives it mythic scale.

For years, she led creative for global beauty brands, shaping how they came into view. That experience now lives inside an artist-led practice, with collaborations built around a natural fit between her visual language and a brand’s own world.
